Laugh with the “Boy Next Door”
We could all use a good laugh, right? Look no further than Meg Cabot’s, “The Boy Next Door”. The story is unique as it is told entirely through e-mail. For people like me, who love e-mail and prefer it over almost any other form of communication, it makes for a lighthearted and fast read. It’s also one of the only books that’s ever……had me laughing on a plane so loud that others were asking what the heck I was reading and where they could get it. Cabot is known for writing “The Princess Diaries”, which I haven’t read. “The Boy Next Door” is more like “Bridget Jones’ Diary” than a Disney after school special. There’s plenty of office politics (some of which ring so true), hilarious friends (and family relationships) and nauseating romance that ends Happily Ever After. If you’re looking for something serious, don’t bother with this fluff. If you want something charming and fun when you’re feeling blue, this is perfect.
