Find Yourself in “Eden”

July 21st, 2008 by Biblioholic

“In Search of Eden” by Linda Nichols is one of the best books that I’ve read in a long time. What makes it so great? Great characters and an interesting plot.

You’ve got your choice of characters to identify with: the suspicious small town police officer, the wandering young woman with a rough background, the sweet old woman trying to hold her family together or the precocious young girl who feels misunderstood. While the story starts out about adoption, it quickly evolves into a story about betrayal, mistrust, family, deception and redemption. Ms. Nicols skillfully weaves faith into the story so that anyone can enjoy it (though it does have a decidedly Christian bent).

I owe a big thanks to my sister-in-law, Brenda, for picking this one up for me for my birthday. It’s a good book and would make a wonderful gift for most female readers. There’s a lot of emotions in this book but I still think that many men would find the plot and characters interesting to explore.

If you like this book, you’ll probably also enjoy “Blue Water” by A. Manette Ansay.
