Perfect for New Moms
While some people swear by “What to Expect When You’re Expecting“, I’m more of a “Sippy Cups Are Not for Chardonnay
” kind of girl. If you know someone who’s having a baby or who’s child is under a year old, this would be a great gift for the new Mom.“Sippy Cups Are Not for Chardonnay
” is by Stefanie Wilder-Tyler, a woman who’s produced “Whose Line is it Anyway?
” so she obviously has a sense of humor. Her book tackles many of the common issues/problems that other “real” pregnancy books talk through: breast feeding, post partum depression, baby names, etc. Her first person narratives are hilarious and occasionally laced with expletives.
I laughed, I didn’t cry and I did occasionally read sections aloud. That’s the mark of a fun book!
While you’re not going to get the answers to in-depth questions, you might just forget your questions and enjoy the ride (and isn’t that really better for everyone?).
Husbands! Take note: this book advocates that a woman is both a wife and a mother and needs to pay attention to you after the baby is born.
That ought to guarentee that every father in America goes out and buys this book.
