What Diane's Reading

Good “Sisters” Book

June 19th, 2009 by Diane

Names My Sisters Call Me” by Megan Crane is a fun and surprisingly introspective read. If you’ve got sisters, then you know how complicated that relationship can be. In this case, we have a trio of sisters – the responsible one, the irresponsible one and the baby sister who’s trying to figure out who she is. There’s the predictably supportive and no-nonsense best friend, the bigger than life fiance and the wild card hottie.

The relationship between the three girls and their mother is fun to read about and more complex than originally appears. The book develops well and even with it’s predictable ending, it has some surprisingly poignant moments.

It reminded me a bit of “The Beach House” or “The Mermaid Chair“, both good beach reads.
