What Diane's Reading

Not worth the “moon”

August 28th, 2009 by Diane

After reading Lisa Tucker’s “The Cure for Modern Life” recently, I was inspired to see what else she’d written. I came across “Shout Down the Moon” and it was okay.Just “okay” sounds so bad and that’s not fair to “Shout”. It moved quickly enough, but was a bit predictable, whereas “The Cure” kept me guessing. It also seemed to have a bit of a romantic novel formula – girl running from the old, “bad boy” boyfriend; girl meets guy that she doesn’t get along with at all; over time, things change….you can figure out the rest.

While I think the book was aiming for suspense, I didn’t feel it much. But please don’t get me wrong, I’ve read a LOT worse. If you’re looking for a quick read that has some sweet romantic elements and you love to sing, you’ll probably enjoy this book.

If you have a creepy ex-boyfriend who was abusive and stalker-ish, you probably don’t want to read this book.
