Berg has an “Art”
October 5th, 2009 by Diane
Elizabeth Berg writes beautiful novels that are perfect for the women in your life (I suspect that most of her novels would not really resonate with guys). “The Art of Mending” is no exception. At it’s core, this is a novel about family relationships, particularly of the mother-daughter variety. How we get along, how we remember our youth, how we find “truth” when it comes to our families and our childhood.
And as usual, Berg tells the story well and keeps out of the way.
I didn’t love it as much as “Open House“, my personal favorite Berg novel, but it was a good read and a fast one. If you like Elizabeth Berg, you’d also enjoy “An Elegant Gathering of White Snows” by Kris Radish.
